At Home Cardio | Why It Can Save Your Life

These days, there are a lot of rules just to go out to our regular places, including work, school, and many of our activities. This has made it all too easy to move less!
​

On top of some of the anxiety that is causing a lot of stress for many, the lack of elevated blood and oxygen flow throughout the body can cause a downward spiral.

How does it happen?

Think about it, how much LESS walking you do in a day because you are confined to staying at home? You use to run around in the morning to get ready, get the kids off to school, stop in for a cup of coffee from your local cafe, and even catch a brisk walk from the car park to your desk. At lunch, you hit up your co-worker and either head to the lunch room or walk over to a nearby restaurant to have your meal then walk back. All throughout the day you move greater distances to do the everyday things like work, use the restroom, ask a question, print something, or get yourself to a meeting.

What about your kids? They are running around during recess, walking to classes that are farther apart than the distance between the kitchen and their bedrooms, and they definitely spend a lot more time active in so many mind-body activities.

Numerous studies and health guidelines indicate that a sedentary lifestyle can lead to long term health issues. A quote from Harvard Health Publishing gives this advice: "Be active. Exercise and physical activity are about the closest things you have to magic bullets against heart disease and other chronic conditions. Any amount of activity is better than none; at least 30 minutes a day is best."

Here are 4 easy at-home exercises you can do with NO equipment needed. We recommend it for any fitness level and hope you will incorporate even more into your day. Keeping active is the best for health success so it is wise to keep your  body moving  as much as possible!

Happy New Year!

2020 was a very challenging year for many and our practice has deep compassion for the changes that you've all had to endure. Covid-19 brought disruption to every aspect of our lives and, on top of that, we continue to sift through constantly evolving information that is overwhelming at best.

In order to meet the demand of patient's health concerns, our plan in 2021 is to provide more frequent information that is "top of mind" and that we feel is beneficial and relevant to your overall health. We know that education and understanding is the best defense against any dis-ease. The more we help to keep you well, the more resilient your body becomes. The more resilient your body becomes, the more you are able to get through the year in top form.

Please be well and remember that we have updated our website so things may look a little different. We hope that you will be able to find everything you need more easily.

Please also note that our 
procedures due to Covid are the same so booking times are more spread apart. We continue to encourage you to call in early or book online.
